The 17 EU Countries Breaking the Law in Pig Treatment

Project Pig - No Stalling on 2013 Ban - TAKE ACTION

Here is the list of the law-breaking countries.  You might be VERY SHOCKED by some of the countries that are on this list of disgrace!:-

Belgium,
Cyprus,
Czech Republic,
Denmark,
Finland,
France,
Germany,
Greece,
Hungary,
Ireland,
Italy,
Malta,
Netherlands,
Poland,
Portugal.
Slovenia,
Spain.

These counties cannot be bothered to adhere to even the bare minimum standards for the protection of pigs!
How utterly disgusting!  How much of this cruelly produced meat ends up here in the UK?  Probably loads!

In 2001 the EU agreed the Pigs Directive (2008/120/EC), laying down minimum standards for the protection of pigs, one of the results of which was the banning of the sow stall from 1 January 2013. The EU allowed producers a 11 year phase-out period and exemptions for the first four weeks of a sow’s pregnancy as well as the week before farrowing.
