Classic Cars and Motorcycling under threat from EU.

Motorcycling is under threat from the EU.

There is a mass rally and run taking place on 25 Sept, organised by the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG).

This is a superb opportunity to get alongside a lot of people who are bike enthusiasts and get them on our side. It is just this sort of attack from the EU that makes people angry and therefore more likely to consider joining us.

ONLY UKIP is standing up for them. Not preaching politics here or advocating for any political party but, since UKIP alone is covering this issue, it makes sense to read UKIP articles and material in order to educate yourself about this.

ALSO, must mention another EU Directive number 2011/35/T which intends to effectively ban all classic cars from the road over 20 years old.

From 2013 the EU plans to require any owner of such a car to apply for a licence (max 5 per year) before taking the car on the open road and even then only to a stated destination.
Just imagine what this would cost our very large national vehicle engineering industry in money and jobs let alone the loss of all the fun that these vehicles give to so many?

“All, whilst I wouldn't advocate anyone joining a political party, this may interest bikers out there and you might like to note the last paragraph about classic cars.

In my opinion they want everyone to have a sat nav so they can be monitored, controlled and taxed accordingly (per journey/miles)- which is why I’ve still got an old banger! This is also why they had the car scrappage scheme, if you can read between the lines. Going forward, in years to come, you will only be allowed on the road with new cars with all their appropriate "Big Brother" gadgets to keep you in check.

Until there is a nationwide resistance network to oppose the above this will continue.”
Mike Clayton.

Richard Hammond might love these cars but he won't be able to drive them much if this becomes law!
