The Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama, the spiritual and political leader of the Tibetan people, will turn 75 on 6 July. He has dedicated his life to trying to find a non-violent solution to the Tibet crisis.

Tibetans in Tibet are denied the right to practice their Buddhist religion freely - even displaying a photograph of the Dalai Lama has been prohibited in parts of Tibet.

He is a truly inspirational man and it is our collective responsibility to continue his lifelong mission to realise freedom in Tibet.

Please mark this mile-stone birthday and stand up for the rights of Tibetans by wearing the Freedom T-shirt!

By wearing the Freedom t-shirt you will be marking this mile-stone birthday and demonstrating your solidarity with Tibet.

Happy Birthday Dalai Lama

The Freedom T-shirt

Free Tibet will be paying their respects to the Dalai Lama on his 75th birthday with the launch of the Freedom t-shirt. The Freedom t-shirt seeks to raise awareness about the lack of religious freedom in Tibet.

The Freedom t-shirt features the silhouette of a Tibetan monk set against the colours of the Tibetan national flag. This flag, the symbol of the Tibetans' national identity, is banned in Tibet.
