Why is the British (EU) Government suddenly so keen on us all having lovely new cars?
Why have they really introduced the "scrappage scheme" to enable this?

Celebrity Jerry Springer and his family once suggested to his frail, elderly father that it was time he consider getting rid of his car, which he no longer drove due to his advanced years but continued to keep, fueled, taxed and roadworthy in his garage.
The old man refused to consider it.
But why does he keep it, and continue paying out every year on maintainance bills when he doesn't drive anymore, the family asked?
Because one night I might have to leave in a hurry, or words to that effect, was the reply. The old man was remembering the Nazi persecutions of his family in Germany. That it could happen again, was obviously in the back of his mind, even though he now lived, I believe, in the USA.
If he had a car he stood a better chance of getting away, and saving himself and his family.
In an emergency, will we be able to leave in a hurry in the new micro chipped cars?

Will they even start in the future, in an emergency? ha ha ha ha
As time goes on, older models of non-chipped cars will not be available second hand - will they?
They are all being destroyed now - not even being passed on to the second hand car market!
Why? That in itself is strange, isn't it?
