The Art of Polite Conversation

Have you seen this yet? Brian Gerrish in a cable tv interview from just after the BCG conference,

www.blip.tv/file/1723061

What I find interesting about this, apart from what Brian says of course, is the style of the interview. Do you remember many years ago when the BBC and ITV etc broadcast interviews like this where the host was laid-back and gave the interviewee space to speak and put his/her views, and current affairs or political interviews were more like intelligent, interesting, civilised conversations, without the endless, rude, abrupt, hectoring interruption that ruins any “interview” held nowadays? Particularly by the princess pushies come hags from hell employed by British mainstream TV and Radio now.

(No sign of them losing their jobs yet then! When are people in the media going to be made redundant to save money in the credit crunch? OR ARE THEY SPECIAL?)

Actually come to think of it, most modern interviews now are just arguments, or rows! Which is why they are a turn-off, literally, contributing to people being so poorly informed.

It is a good demonstration of how manners and the media have deteriorated over the years, and how the dumbed-down public are being slyly and cleverly manipulated.
